Coco Chanel said...

Obviously she didn’t mean turning up to a formal wedding in jeans and flip flops or going to an uptown restaurant in tracksuits. What she did mean was that overdressing gives out the impression and trying too hard and after all, for all of those who were as passionate about fashion as Coco knew that fashion should be effortless.
Personally I hate feeling both underdressed and overdressed but like many people I struggle to find a happy medium between the two.

What I’m trying to get at is that being overdressed is a sure sign for trying too hard and fashion shouldn’t be something that you are obsessed with, not something you obsess over.
Sometimes you have to take off all the accessories and just keep things simple and sometimes simplicity can be the best statement of all.

Fight For This Love

I wore this outfit to a lunch date today, it's very simple, elegant and at the same time edgy. Here are a few more photos of it.

I love these new "Jeggings" (Leggings that are made to look like jeans) that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. The shop had a range of different color Jeggings ranging from very light look-a-like denim to black. I chose somewhere in the middle to make them more wearable as they would match with more tings.

I love the zips down the sides which gives them a bit of edge.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

I went out shopping today with my best friend to catch up on the post Christmas sales. We went out for lunch at an uptown restaurant afterwards.

I hate feeling underdressed so I opted for this smart-casual LBD (little black dress) that I fell in love with a while ago and brought, however I haven’t worn apart from a couple dinner dates.

I love that fact that the two zips down each side give an edgy modern twist on the classic LBD. With it I wore simple black heeled pumps (if you are observant you will have noticed the red soles of the shoes below – knock off Louboutin – not real *sobs*)

I think every girl , whatever shape of size should have a little black dress in their wardrobes. Whatever your style you can make this classic look work for you.

Style Stalker - Megan Fox

Overall I think that Megan Fox it one of the prettiest people in the world. I have never seen a bad photo of her, she in one word is stunning.
Her fashion mirros her face, she has a classic look with a modern sexy twist. Her evening wear is the thing I mst envy, she can turn an already stunning dress into something remarcable.
Her hair is to die for and I could’t cunt the amount of time I’ve spent trying to ake my hair look remotly as perfect and polished as hers.
One day I hope to have her style, class and beauty…well I can dream!

Style Stalker - Katy Perry

Katy Perry defines her fashion as "a bit of a concoction of different things.” Katy Perry has been a huge fashion inspiration to me and alot of my fashion choices come from Katy Perry . I love that she’s not afraid to wear bright colors and crazy clothes. My FAVORITE part of her style is how she pulls off the classic 50’s look but somehow effortlessly manages to put a modern twist on it. I love the way that she keeps her makeup simple to contrast with her bight clothing choices.

In BLACK and WHITE

Sometimes you just have to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Chanel and just keep things simple.

I wore this out to a Boxing Day party. Boxing Day is always sad for me because I know that have to wait another 365 days till Christmas comes around again. Hopefully 2010 will fly by just like 2009 did and it will be Christmas in no time at all.

I paired the simple black and white dress with a business jack to give the outfit a more tailored look.

To contrast with the rest of the outfit I’m wear my favorite pair of heeled ankle boots to give the outfit edginess.

Dear Diary...

My style changes from day to day. One day I decide that I want to go all Dita Von Teese and I load up on the MAC Russian Red, the next I can take inspiration from the likes of MK Olsen and try to take on the "effortless look" that is so very hard to pull off.

Many people have trouble finding there “personal style” and I am one of these people. In real life I’m always changing my mind and I think that reflects in my fashion choices. The outfits that I tend to put together reflect my mood at that moment. For example I may wake up one day and decide that I’m feeling glamorous and play dress up like Bair Waldorf, other days I feel like crap and will go everywhere in tracksuits.

To me personal style (by that keeping to one particular style) seems boring and to me fashion should never be boring.
